Accredited Electrical Standards Calibration Lab Services from Transcat
Transcat's Reference Electrical Laboratory, located in Houston, TX, is the traceability nexus for all DC/Low Frequency calibration standards. Our extensive scope of ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation covers a wide range of parameters.
Standard Calibration
We calibrate all Transcat electrical calibration standards, as well as external customer instrumentation, including Reference Multimeters like the Fluke 8508 and Agilent 3458, Multifunction Calibrators like the Fluke 5730 and AC Standards like the Fluke 5790, to name a few. Virtually 100% of the calibration procedures performed in the Reference Electrical lab are fully automated to maximize repeatability, reproducibility, and calibration integrity. The results from these automated calibrations are available through our CalTrak Online software for viewing and downloading as needed. With true traceability to SI (international standard) units through NIST, and ISO 9001 compliant calibrations, Transcat's accredited electrical calibration capabilities exceed the most stringent quality requirements.
Our standard turnaround time for most of our reference calibrations is 10 business days. Our competitive pricing will beat most OEMs.
We also offer lab standard rental services to support our customers during scheduled and unscheduled downtime.
Calibration Standards
Our DC Voltage capability is predicated on a bank of 9 Fluke 732B DC Standards, all of which are intercompared every 24 hours. The Master Standard is calibrated every 6 months via participation in Fluke's Direct Voltage Maintenance Program, conducted out of Fluke's Everett Primary Electrical Laboratory. Our DC Volts capability covers a range of 0 ‚ 1000 VDC, with a best uncertainty of 0.2 ppm.
Our Resistance capability is traceable through an array of Master Resistance Standards maintained in a High Precision Oil Bath at 25 °C. Selected Master Standards are calibrated yearly at Process Instruments then those coefficients are transferred to our Working Standards using our National Instruments 6242B Automated Resistance Bridge. Our Resistance capability covers a range of 0 Ω ‚ 20 GΩ, with a best uncertainty of 0.2 ppm.
Our DC Current capability is derived from the combination of our DC Voltage & Resistance capabilities, & covers a range of 0 ‚ 100 Amps, with a best uncertainty of 2 ppm.
Our AC Voltage capability is founded on our Fluke 792A AC/DC Transfer Standard. The 792A is calibrated every 2 years at Fluke's Everett Primary Electrical Laboratory. Our AC Volts capability covers a range of 1 mV ‚ 1000 VDC, from 10 Hz ‚ 1 MHz, with a best uncertainty of 7 ppm.
Our AC Current capability is based on the combination of our Fluke 792A AC/DC Transfer Standard & our Fluke A40 Precision Current Shunts. The A40s are calibrated every 2 years at Fluke's Everett Primary Electrical Laboratory. Our AC Current capability covers a range of 100 µA ‚ 100 A, from 10 Hz ‚ 30 kHz, with a best uncertainty of 30 ppm.
Our Impedance capability is traceable through our Agilent E4980A Precision LCR meter, which is calibrated yearly at the Keysight Technologies Loveland Standard Lab. Our Impedance capability covers a range of 1 Ω ‚ 100 kΩ, from 10 Hz to 1 MHz, with a best uncertainty of 0.06%.
Our Phase capability comes from our Clarke-Hess 5002 Phase Verification Bridge set, & covers a range of 50 mV ‚ 120 V, from 1 Hz ‚ 200 kHz, from 0 ‚ 360°, with a best uncertainty of 0.0020°.
Our Capacitance capability is traceable through our Agilent E4980A Precision LCR meter, which is calibrated yearly at the Standards Lab formerly known as Loveland. Our Capacitance capability covers a range of 0.01 pF ‚ 10 mF, from 20 Hz to 2 MHz, with a best uncertainty of 0.06%. We can also cover Capacitance range 0.33 mF ‚ 100 mF using a 3458-based time/charge methodology, with a best uncertainty of 141 ppm.
Our Sine Wave Flatness capability is derived via our Precision Measurements EL 100 Thermal Voltage Converter, & covers a range of 1 mV ‚ 3 V, from 10 Hz ‚ 30 MHz, with a best uncertainty of 50 ppm.
Our Inductance capability is from our Agilent E4980A Precision LCR meter, which is calibrated yearly at the Standards Lab formerly known as Loveland. Our Inductance capability covers a range of 1 µH ‚ 100 H, from 100 Hz to 1 MHz, with a
