Gurrumul Yunupingu - The Gurrumul Story LP Vinyl Record

“The Gurrumul Story” is Gurrumul Yunupingu's fifteenth studio album, originally released in 2021. Born blind, the Indigenous Australian singer/songwriter Gurrumul grew up as a member of the Gumatj clan on Elcho Island, off the coast of tropical North East Arnhem Land in Australia’s Northern Territory. Gurrumul’s songs speak of identity, spirit, connection with the land, the elements and the ancestral beings to whom he is related.

“The Gurrumul Story" is one of Gurrumul Yunupingu's best bodies of work to date, with many fan favourite songs on the album such as “Wiyathul,” and “Bapa” it is no wonder the album is considered a masterpiece in the folk & country scene.

The Everly Brothers - Hey Doll Baby LP Vinyl Record

The Everly Brothers were an American rock act that rose to fame in the late 1950s. They were known for their steel-string acoustic guitar playing style as well as their close harmony singing. Hey Doll Baby is a newly remastered 17-track compilation that collects some of the lesser-known, buried treasures in the Everly Brothers’ rich catalog with songs assembled by Adria Petty, Tom Petty’s daughter, who worked closely with both Everly families on the project. 

Their music showcases the classic swinging 60’s tune with their lyrics honing in on themes of love, heartbreak, and overall joy. The brothers are considered to be the pioneers of country rock, therefore this record is a must-have for any collection.

Grimes - Miss Anthropocene LP Vinyl Record

Miss Anthropocene is the fifth studio album by Canadian musician Grimes (Claire Boucher), released on February 21, 2020. The album is a loose concept album about an "anthropomorphic goddess of climate change" inspired by Roman mythology and villainy. It debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart when released.

Much darker than her previous releases, the album contains inspiration from the sounds of industrial music, dream/synth-pop and darkwave styles. The wide range of sounds explored on Miss Anthropocene have it acting almost as a “greatest hits” of Grimes work.

This album contains tracks which are quite transcendent such as “Delete Forever” pairing dreamy vocals with banjo and violin, through to the electro dance of “Violence”, conjuring images of fluid bodies moving across the dance floor.  "We Appreciate Power", featuring American singer Hana, has an electronic rock sound and lyrics revolving around themes of trans-humanism and artificial intelligence. It was also noted that Grimes had been in a relationship with technology entrepreneur Elon Musk since 2018, leading to speculation that the song was inspired by him and his work.

Her first release in over 4 years, Miss Anthropocene is no doubt a work of ambition and Boucher’s attempt at bringing further awareness to the climate crisis is noble.
