This high quality product is designed for long and trouble free operation with relatively heavy loads to be excited to high g levels. This type can be driven by any amplifier up to a maximum input current of 15A RMS without assisted cooling and will normally be driven by power amplifier type 2719 rated at 180VA. It has several uses such as for the calibration of accelerometers, educational demonstrators, structural response testing, vibration testing of small objects, and mechanical impedance measurements. Among the features are low cross motion and low distortion but of highly damped axial, transverse and flexural resonances.
